Ingredients

  • For Meat Balls (Koftas)
  • Chicken Qeema: 1/2 kg

  • Chopped Onions: 1 Medium

  • Chopped Coriander: 1/2 Cup

  • Chopped Mint Leave: 1/3 Cup

  • Chopped Chillies: 4

  • Lemon Juice: 1

  • Fresh BreadCrumbs: 2 Slices

  • Gram Flour: 4 Tbsp

  • Red Chilli Powder: 1/2 Tsp

  • Red Chilli Flakes: 1 Tsp

  • Salt: 1.5 Tsp

  • Coriander Seeds (Roasted & Crushed): 1 Tbsp

  • Black Pepper Powder: 1 Tsp

  • Garam Masala Powder: 1/2 Tsp

  • Cumin Seeds (Roasted & Crushed): 1/2 Tbsp

  • For Masala Making
  • Oil: 1/4 Cup

  • Onion: 1 Medium (Sliced)

  • Ginger Paste: 1 Tbsp

  • Diced Tomatoes: 5 Medium

  • Coriander Powder: 1/2 Tsp

  • Red Chilli Powder: 1 Tsp

  • Red Chilli Flakes: 1 Tsp

  • Garam Masala Powder: 1 Tsp

  • Salt: 1.5 Tsp

  • Mace: 1/4 Tsp

  • Nutmeg: 1/4 Tsp

  • Yogurt 1 Cup 

  • For Boiling Rice
  • Rice: 700 gm (Soaked & Strained)

  • Water: 2 litre

  • Star Anise: 4

  • Green Cardamom: 6

  • Black Cumin Seeds: 1 Tsp

  • Cloves: 8

  • Black Pepper Corns: 16

  • Cumin Seeds: 1 Tsp

  • Black Cardamom: 2

  • Cinnamon Sticks: 2 Small

  • Salt: 2 Tbsp

  • For Biryani Garnishing
  • Yellow and Orange Food Colour

  • Lemon Slices

  • Fried Bell Peppers

Method and Instructions

  • In a Kadahi Fry 1 Medium Sliced Onion in 1/4 Cup Oil till Golden Brown.

  • Now add the ingredients of Meat Balls (Koftas) except yogurt. (ingredients mentioned above)

  • Mix all the ingredients and Fry Well

  • Now add 1 Cup Yogurt and Mix Well

  • Add the Fried Meatballs and Mix them as Well.

  • Cover & Cook for 5 minutes on Low Flame.

  • Now in a Different Pot take 2 Litre Water and add the ingredients for boiling Rice (mentioned above).

  • Boil the Water and add Soaked & Strained Rice: 700 gm.
    Boil till 70% Done and Strain them.

  • Layer the Strained Rice on the Meatballs Masala and Pour Yellow and Orange Food Colour.

  • Place Lemon Slices and the Fried Bell Peppers. Cover & Cook for 10 minutes on Low Flame.

    Very Tasty and Delicious Kofta Biryani.
