Ingredients

  • Bread : 18 - 20 Slices

  • Milk : 1.5 Litre

  • Sugar : 1-1/2 Cup

  • Green Cardamom Powder : 1 Tsp

  • Kewda Water : 2 Tbsp

  • Oil for frying

  • Khoya / Mawa : 250 gm

  • Pistachios, Almonds and desiccated coconut for garnishing

Method and instructions

  • Take 18-20 bread Slices, Remove edges and leave to dry for 2-3 hours.

  • Boil 1.5 litre milk, Once milk is boiled add 1 & 1/2 cup Sugar, Green Cardamom Powder, Kewda Water, and Cook till Sugar dissolves.

  • Add 1/2 cup oil in a frying pan for shallow frying, Fry dried bread slices till golden brown from both sides.

  • Dip in Boiled Milk until softens and set in serving dish, Add 250 gm Khoya in the remaining milk. Cook over low heat till the mixture thickens or becomes a custard like consistency.

  • Pour this mixture over bread slices, Garnish with Pistachios, Almonds and desiccated coconut.
